Arrived back safe and sound yesterday, after a fantastic trip.
Your tour package you gave us was great; it was really exciting turning the pages to see what we could do next, and where we would be staying. All of us thought the accommodation was really quite special, and the Swancotts are determined never to bother with hotels again!

We all found the scenery stunning, the drive from Worcester to Oudtshoorn took all of breaths away; we had to keep stopping to take pictures! And in fact it was in Oudtshoorn that we had the best meal of the trip, the restaurant at The Queens hotel was great, and the service was first class, the food left our tummies full, happy and contented! Rode the ostriches there too, which was hilarious, very entertaining indeed. I haven’t screamed so loud for ages!!

We had a long journey then up the Swartberg pass, which is worth a mention in your package I think, all of us thought it was the best drive we have ever had for scenic views, and mention the skydiving in Plett too, a real buzz with some great people!!

Enough, enough, running out of room, and want to send you all of our thanks for such a great trip.

I had tears in my eyes when I left, there is still so much to do that I will need to return for several more trips before I have had my fill of your country, and I know we will all come back to you again to arrange another memorable holiday. Thank you so much from all of us in cold, grey England.

We have just returned from our Honeymoon and had a fantastic time. Everything went very well and would like to make particular mention of Pondoro Lodge where they looked after us exceptionally well. The B&B in Hermanus was also very nice.

Overall impression of the trip: We loved South Africa. It is a beautiful country with many different, but all beautiful areas, and we enjoyed all of them. We definitely want to go back, and of course will contact you then, but will also do a different trip. Lodolozi was in one word fantastic.

Of all the places we have been, we enjoyed the ST. James in Knysna, the lodge in Londolozi and the Atlantic View in Camps Bay the best. Stellenbosch is a beautiful area, all the vineyards could have been France, Australia or California!

Like Marianne said, this was one of our better, if not the best vacation we ever had to the most beautiful country we have seen.

As far as Selftours is concerned: everything was well planned and well arranged. You did a very good job and we had no surprises at all.

Last but not least, it was a real pleasure to meet you for dinner in Knysna. Rest assured that we will contact you on our next South African adventure.

We safely arrived back home full of memories of a wonderful time in the beautiful country of South Africa. The complete organization was perfect in every respect and the friendly people in all accomodations well informed about our arrival. You made a very good job on a high grade of professionalism.

We felt like being home at Malherbe Guest House in Montagu and Broadlands Country House in Kirkwood on a citrus farm near Addo Park.
The Township tour in Mosselbay impressed us deeply.

Car Hire pick up very easy and we collected your very useful Selftours package.

The accomodation at Hermanus was fantastic our favourite room of the trip and we wished we had stayed there 2 nights as the local people were so friendly. Great whale watching and really enjoyed the hospitality in the 'Tiger Bar'.
Knysna was lovely and the drive from Hermanus spectacular. Shamwari was fantastic only fault was 'Too much food'. The hotel in Oudtshorn was very good with great breakfasts, and we had a great day at the Cango Caves and then driving over some of the mountain passes. What amazing scenery.

Robben Island, Table Mountain, The Aquarium and the drive around the Cape were all superb. The most memorable trip was our Township Tour it was so moving and inspirational.

The location of the accommodation was excellent. We enjoyed never being in the centre of a tourist centre and loved the size of the rooms etc. One gets so used to accommodation being as small as possible in Europe.

We are back in the UK after a wonderful honeymoon in South Africa. We would both like to thank for putting such a fantastic itinerary together and we have really enjoyed ourselves. We where very pleased with the choice of hotels and 'things to do' although I had little time beforehand to read about various activities and places to visit. We loved Stellenbosh and the vineyards and tasted some excellent wines with delicious lunches! We horse riding through one of the vineyards and this was a great experience, even for Clare who is an experienced rider!

The Garden Route Game Park was very interesting with excellent guides and we saw all the 'Big 5'. They happened to be all in one field, a sight rarely seen apparently so we did not have to look much around!
Plettenbergbaai was also beautiful and the staff in the restaurant of the Keurbooms Hotel where very friendly..............

The car was also very good and have no complaints! It was just great!
It was well worth it so we are already planning next year............

We are both very bad at sitting still so appreciate if you can put an'active' program together for us! We would probably go around the same time of year and length of time.

Yes all holidays must come to an end but we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to South Africa. We packed alot in, in 22 days with 11 stopovers and doing 4100 kilometres but we would not have left anything out of the itinerary now that we have done it. The accommodation throughout was excellent and we have no complaints. Your brochure of maps and things to do in each location was most helpful. The food was excellent wherever we ate and of all the places we visited, Capetown was our favourite.

All in all, you provided us with a good service and we will certainly recommend you to any friends that express an interest in having a holiday in South Africa.

Yes, we are back from an absolutely WONDERFUL holiday! Everything went perfectly, and we saw far more than we expected.
The accommodation was of a very high standard, and the food included was excellent. (We even found the level of accomodation and the quality of the restaurants in Kruger to be much higher than on our last visit.)
St Lucia, Hluhluwe and Mkuze were very exciting. We saw hundreds of birds from very close range. We went on the morning game walk at Hluhluwe and met a herd of buffalo face-to-face. We had some fun in Swaziland, looking at even more exotic birds and flowers, and visiting a Swazi cultural village.
At Kruger we kept encountering small herds of elephants, lions, numerous antelopes, and even a group of rhino.
Finally two days at the Buffalo Camp in Kapama. This was gross luxury. The pattern of convening for drinks, then driving, stopping for a drink after one and half hours, then back for a grand banquet was great. There weren't many in residence, so the largest group we went with was seven, and on the last day it was just the two of us. Our "ranger", Bronson, took us on mad, bouncing drives through the bush while communicating with other rangers via CB radio. The two major highlights were tracking down a pride of lions (6) that had just killed a giraffe, and a female leopard with its cub, who had just killed a wart-hog. We were able to watch both these groups at close range for a long time, and also come back the next day as they guarded the remainder of the kill against the gathering vultures.
Altogether an absolutely wonderful time. We have hours of video film, and hundreds of photographs.

We arrived in Johannesburg a little bit later than scheduled but we got pretty easily to the Budget desk. We were surprised with all the things you included in Selftours Tour package and our first impression was excellent.

All the service in all the B&Bs and restaurants has been excellent, far much better than what we are used to in other countries. Roads and signing is excellent and driving is very pleasant. We haven't had any annoyance because we've followed the recommendations and it's been safer than expected. All the villages seemed to be very quiet (Sabie, Knysna...) and even Cape Town was ok to walk by night in Long St and surroundings. And your country has EVERYTHING to do and see: Landscapes, mountains (we love trekking), animals, coast, beaches... and Cape Town, of course.

We consider Selftours service very, very professional. Your type of service is exactly what we need from and agent and it has even exceeded our expectations. Starting with your excellent quotation, the fast, clear and effective answers to all the questions, the recommendations... and then the tour package and the accommodation.

We don't know yet if we'll go back to SA but we've read that you also work with other African destinations. In case we go there again we'll contact you and, of course, we will recommend Selftours to anybody who wants to go to SA.

Wow, what a wonderful holiday!!!!!!! We did not want to leave South Africa, it was very difficult to say goodbye.

I really must congratulate you & your company for the EXCELLENT organization of our tour. I will admit that I was very nervous of using an Travel Agent found though the Web of which I had no other references. But I am very happy that we took the risk of letting you organize our trip.

I also admit that as a customer I was very demanding, obviously with theses trips there is a lot of money involved which adds on to the fear of not having a good vacation. But the travel portfolio that you prepared was very well detailed & very helpful.

We had absolutely NO PROBLEM at all. The hired cars were waiting for us at both CT + PE airport, the booking of internal flight, the accommodation reservations all went smoothly without any incident.

The best was Botlierskop Reserve, amazing experience!!!! The warmest Die Opstal the hosts made us feel as one of the family - Wonderful milk tart I recommend you try it. The most peaceful - Tsitsikama Reserve, no traffic, no pollution, just mother nature in all it's splendour. These were the highlights but the rest of the accommodations were very comfortable as well.

In Cape Town we just loved our little duplex home between the lake & the beach. Very comfortable & safe. We arrived in the afternoon to find a flowers & fresh fruit in the lounge, in the fridge milk, eggs, juice etc awaiting our arrival, very thoughtful gesture.

I will definitely use your company again the next time I go to S.A. I highly recommend your services.

We completed our trip successfully and really had a great time all round without any problems. The breakfasts were all great and much larger than either of us could handle. All accommodation was excellent. Addo was the highlight and were very glad we spent 2 nights there. We drove back inland through the Karoo to Oudtshoorn and found the scenery and mountain passes fantastic. We would have driven to The Hell as we had read a bit about it but did not have the time ( 2 hrs each way).

Costs were good by Aussie standards. Prices in tourist areas were not inflated compared to general areas e.g. Coffee and food on Table Mtn was comparable with prices down below.
Security was no issue for us and saw no sign of troubles. Roads and signage was very good and made it easy to get around all of this helped by the package you put together which was absolutely great including the Map book you provided. We have never received a package of this quality.

We would certainly use your services again and would recommend you to our friends.

Our second wonderful holiday with Selftours. Thank you so much for all your hard work to make it so special. Overall the accommodation was first rate

Private Game Lodge and private game reserve - the absolute highlight of our holiday. What a wonderful place. We were spoilt from the moment we set foot in the reserve to the moment we left. I have no idea of the price of our stay, but whatever it was, it was worth every single cent. The staff were friendly, open, helpful and accommodating. The rooms were palatial. The food was good and plentiful (any time not looking at animals was spent eating!!!) and our rangers and trackers were first rate - no patch of land went un-searched for the lionesses and their 7 cubs and we even saw a cheetah with 2 cubs less than a month old - the first people (including the rangers!) to do so. Please, please, please recommend this wonderful place to any of your future customers. Also, managed to get my courage together to go on the elephant back safari - my husband said I didn't stop grinning the whole time!

St Lucia - a superb B&B which should be recommended to future customers. Charlene, the owner, looked after us very well. The rooms were spacious with lots of good facilities but the public areas were the highlight - lovely decking area to sit out, nice pool and beautiful garden backing on to St Lucia forest. St Lucia itself was also such a surprise - I had no idea such a paradise existed in that part of SA.

Zulu village. What an experience! We would never have found this ourselves and are grateful to Selftours for finding this for us and including it in our package. A fantastic night here learning all about Zulu customs and sleeping in our Zulu huts without electricity but with a great rock 'bath'! The village tour didn't finish until around 10.30am and then it is a further 2 hours on horseback or ox cart back to civilization!

We had a fantastic holiday and couldn't have done it without Selftours help. A personal thank you too to you Cheryl for your invaluable help in the preparation of this package. We are certainly going to recommend your services to family and friends, so if anyone else by the name of Roberts contacts you from the UK - they are probably related to us!

Our mind is still in South Africa. We really enjoy every moment of our holidays. I loved Capetown and its weather. We enjoy Durban and the surroundings, did some great shopping both at Gateway and in the Victoria Indian Market and couldn't get over the beauty of the ocean and the beaches. My husband even gave surfing a try. Our daughter has been quite impressed by Shakaland and I think she has imported Zulu dancing and dressing in France. I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple of girls playing Nandi in the neighborhood. The ultimate experience was the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi park. We got to see 2 lions hunting at nights among all the other beasts. I just can close my eyes and see the African landscape at sunset or dusk. Well, I go on and on but I'm sure you already know you have a great country.
The planning was just right for us. We would like to congratulate everybody for the level of service we received. France, and Europe, should take an example some times.

Thanks for your mails. Being too late now for x-mas wishes, let me wish you at least a very Happy New Year. Sorry for the confusion my son seems to have caused regarding the third person (who did not accompany us on the trip).
The trip was well organised with the travel documents perfectly arranged, with maps, advices, suggestions and of course, the instructions on how to find our accomodations. All of them were much to our satisfaction with some of them even exceeding our expectations, like for instance, the stately Manor in Oudtshourn with the morbid charme of the 'fin de siècle'. All our hosts were were very kind and helpful regarding any information.

The only thing we regretted was that most places of interest, including museums, close down already at 5 p.m. This makes it difficult, and most often impossible to see all that is suggested in the flyers. This is, of course, not in your hands.

May I take this occasion and thank you again for having organised our marvellous trip and wishing you and your colleagues once more a very Happy New Year!

Thanks Chinky - We enjoyed meeting you and did not want to come home. We both said we could quite happily do the same trip again.
Shamwari was wonderful and we also saw whales at Plett as well.
The only thing we would change next time is to spend more time in the Tsitsikamma forest, we thought it was lovely and would liked to have stayed there a bit longer. But the holiday was wonderful and something we will always remember. Thank you for all your help.

We have just got home in time to watch the rugby England winning rounded off a perfect two weeks.

We meant to give you a call when in Knysna but just got too involved in our trip.
However, our thanks to you and Self Tours for a perfect holiday. Everything was just right, great accommodation — each place was run by some really nice people who made us most welcome at every stay. Everything was in place from the car to each booking not one problem. The choice of places to stay was impressive we particularly enjoyed the contrast each day from Addo Chalets to a nice hotel on the sea front and from log cabins in the Forest to a beach front stay in Mossel Bay.
We both enjoyed every moment what a great country. We will be back and I would have no hesitation in recommending Self Tours to our friends.

I don't know where to start! A very big thank-you for a wonderful Holiday, your planning and itinerary was superb.
We were very impressed with South Africa and its friendly people and look forward to returning in a few years. I think that we had two main highlights, the whale safari was wonderful we saw seals & dolphins and managed to track a whale and her calf the whole length of the Bay, an amazing experience.
For me the whole experience of Shamwari was a dream, such a friendly place and we where lucky in that we saw 'the big five' plus lots more besides!

Just wanted to say thank you for a perfect trip. Everything went off as planned with the exception of the shark dive due to rough seas! However , we saw whales on our very first day on an excellent trip out of Hermanus. We loved the game drive too! And you were right , the seals and the penguins were waiting for us!

All the accommodation was lovely and the route worked out very well for us. You live in a beautiful country with amazing scenery and lovely warm hearted people. Our trip could not have been better organized so we thank you once again for the excellent tour package you prepared for us and a job well done.

Neither Dave nor I can think of a single time when we weren't provided with the highest quality of service in terms of accommodation, hospitality, information and help. Each of the guest houses/hotels you booked for us was charming and the hosts without exception were incredibly friendly and helpful. We found the standard of service of both these establishments and Selftours to be exceptional. Please pass on our regards to all our hosts (Len & Jean, Peter & Meagan, Jan & Lydia) who did an excellent job of looking after us. We were also extremely satisfied with the car provided by Budget Car Hire. We experienced no problems with the vehicle and were grateful that they forwarded our tour package to us when we did not immediately receive it from them. All in all we found SA to be a beautiful country with friendly people, amazing animals and a mulititude of things to do.
